Finding senior care across Greater Cleveland is not really a search problem. Across 7 counties there are dozens of licensed Residential Care Facilities, and most of them will happily give you a tour. The hard part is knowing what Ohio actually requires, which two Area Agencies on Aging split this region, and what any of it actually costs once care-level fees are added in.
That is what this site is for. We publish what Ohio regulators actually require, what the published cost data actually says, and which Cleveland-area communities we have verified — then a local advisor helps you narrow it down. The service is free to your family because communities pay us when a family moves in. You should know that going in, which is why we say it here rather than in the footer.
Cleveland Senior Advisor is a free senior care referral service for families across Cuyahoga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Geauga, Summit and Portage counties. We help you compare licensed assisted living, memory care, nursing and in-home care options, verify licensing through the Ohio Department of Health, and understand what Medicaid, Medicare and VA benefits will and will not pay for.
About about 608,000 people over 65 live across this 7-county region
Lake and Geauga counties have the highest share of residents 65 and older in the region, both above 23 percent, well ahead of the national and Ohio averages. Cuyahoga County, the region's population center, has both the largest raw number of seniors and the most concentrated supply of assisted living and memory care communities, particularly in the East Side inner suburbs and the West Side lakefront corridor.

Population figures are the July 1, 2025 Vintage 2025 estimate for each county. The 65-plus percentages come from the 2020-2024 ACS 5-year estimate, a different data vintage, so the 'seniors' counts below are approximations calculated by applying the ACS percentage to the 2025 population, not a published Census figure. Geauga County's age percentage in particular is drawn from an earlier 2024-vintage QuickFacts release because the 2025-vintage age breakdown was not separately available at time of writing; treat the Geauga senior count as a rougher approximation than the other six counties.
